INTERCESSORS FOR AMERICA PRAYER FOCUS
LOCAL SCHOOLS   -    Pray for God’s wisdom to guide  your local public and private school boards, principals, teachers, aides, administrators, staff, and home-schooling parents in their final preparation for the upcoming school year.  Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon all students in your area, and increase of school prayer groups and Bible clubs, and a strengthening of all youth outreach ministries.

September 5   MISSIONARIES OF THE WEEK: John & Melissa Bjorgen (pictured) serve in discipleship and short-term missions teams ministry in Belize.
U.S. CHURCH PLANTER OF THE WEEK: Bruce Eveleth in May held the public launch of Calvary Baptist Church-Warrior’s Mark Campus, State College, PA, Converge MidAtlantic region.

September 6 LABOR DAY: This holiday pray for those who are without work and may be growing discouraged as they search for employment.   Pray many more jobs will be created soon and our economy will become vigorous once again.

September 7 Pray God will provide strength and wisdom for Converge Worldwide (BGC) president Jerry Sheveland and senior vice president Doug Fagerstrom as they lead our movement and have demanding travel and meeting schedules.   In these difficult economic times, also pray for funding for Converge regional, national and international ministries.

September 8   Praise God that Igreja Batista Emanuel, near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, celebrated its first anniversary August 8.   Missionaries Rick & Carol Stark minister at IBE with church planter Alonso.   In recent months the congregation welcomed new members, installed a new roof and painted the building.   Pray for the monthly evangelistic outreach service held in the home of Alonso’s brother-in-law, a seeker.

September 9   Steve Anderson and Steve Bracco, assistants to the president, meet regularly with individuals and national and International ministries.   Pray for their safety in travel and effectiveness in communicating the Converge vision.

September 10   Missionaries John & Elaine Mehn are church planting in Tokyo.   John also is director of the Church Planting Institute of Japan.   Pray for them as they prepare for the annual conference in November.   Also pray for wisdom and strength for them as they continue to mentor leaders on a weekly basis.

September 11   Pray Converge missionaries serving in high-security ministry zones will be safe from harm and have an effective Christian witness, discipling new believers to do the work of evangelism.
